A Deliberate Data Infrastructure product

Physical world data infrastructure.

V0 resolves different representations of the same physical environment around persistent physical objects, while preserving what each source says and where it came from.

Understand the V0 Physical Object

01 / DDI methodology

DDI’s methodology, implemented in the physical world

Specialist data infrastructure from fragmented physical world sources.

V0 demonstrates DDI’s approach to constructing specialist data infrastructure from fragmented sources.

It integrates heterogeneous government, regulatory, spatial and other information around persistent physical objects while preserving identifiers, source positions, evidence, geometry and relationships.

02 / What V0 demonstrates

A physical world implementation

Five principles made concrete.

Multiple source systems
Different providers and datasets can contribute information about the same physical object.
Persistent identity
Source identifiers remain useful without becoming the physical object’s permanent identity.
Evidence and provenance
Information remains attributable to the provider and source that supplied it.
Relationships and context
Physical objects can be connected to other objects and relevant attributed context.
Queryable infrastructure
Existing software, GIS and intelligent systems can consume physical world information through a source-neutral read boundary.

03 / Persistent identity

V0PO means V0 Physical Object

One physical anchor. Multiple attributed representations.

A V0PO is the persistent physical identity used by V0. Provider and customer identifiers remain distinct from it. They can be entry points into V0, but they do not become the persistent physical identity and do not need to replace identifiers in existing systems.

From the resolved V0PO, a consumer can navigate wider physical world information associated with that object.

04 / Source positions

Attribution remains part of the answer

Resolution is not unexplained certainty.

V0 preserves what each source says and where it came from.

Provider positions are not silently converted into established physical truth. V0 distinguishes physical knowledge states so consuming systems can retain the condition of what is known.

Established
A governed physical conclusion established by V0.
Provisional
Current evidence supports the position, but V0 has not established it as a governed physical conclusion.
Conflicted
Current evidence contains incompatible positions that should remain visible rather than being silently resolved.
Unknown
Available information does not support a physical conclusion.

05 / Source-neutral access

Physical objects, not connector tables

A read model organised around the physical world.

The public V0 read boundary is browser-safe, read-only and source-neutral. It exposes physical objects and their projected current information rather than connector-specific source tables.

Evidence explains why V0 knows about an object or position. Source attribution and knowledge state provide necessary context for interpreting that information.

Discovery and retrieval

Structured, read-only physical world information.

V0 supports structured, read-only discovery and retrieval of physical world information by location, identifier and other governed dimensions.
